International Conference History~ Brain
injury has reached epidemic proportions in many parts of the world,
including developing countries. Researchers report that many
survivors have difficulty returning to normal lives. High rates of
neurobehavioral difficulties, cognitive impairment, physical
limitations, and unemployment have been reported by international
researchers. Immigration and globalization have contributed to
diversity. Clinicians are often challenged trying to provide
services to persons who speak different languages and who are from
different cultures.
Prior brain injury conferences have invited faculty and participants
from different countries and cultures. Our conference is the first
to focus entirely on ethnicity, cultural issues, and brain injury.
Presentations will focus on clinical program development, achieving
optimal outcomes in multi-ethnic communities, and research
methodology.
